Is it weird that the two best soul records so far this year were released in the same week? Maybe. It's been a pretty good year for soul and R&B overall, but this record and Love & Hate are clearly the pinnacle, and between the two I'd give the edge to HEAVN.

This album is more refreshing than Lemonade, more powerful than King, and sunnier than Freetown. Listen to it.
