Kacey Musgraves - Deeper Well
Kacey Musgraves - Deeper Well
Kacey goes a bit more folk on this one? I can dig it.
People are saying she still hasn’t reached the same heights she hit on Golden Hour. And yeah, that’s true. But some people seem to be underrating it simply because of that fact. Which I think is silly.
These songs are less produced, more down to earth, more soft. And it’s understandable to miss some of the previous fireworks. But this is still very good stuff. Just different.
She remains a gifted and intelligent songwriter, with an ear for melody and a knack for a clever turn of phrase that cuts right to the heart. And she’s still a deeply charming singer, with voice that’s clear and simple and rings like a bell.
This record is all about maturity and deepening love and the passage of time. Aching nostalgia even as you still cherish what you have. It’s lovely.
