Logic - The Incredible True Story
Logic - The Incredible True Story
Great stuff. This record is of that certain strain of hip hop music that you might call album-oriented hip hop. Very conceptual and indebted to the golden age (there are skits!), and with a focus on technically skilled delivery. Lupe Fiasco's record earlier this year fits into the same category.
This sub-genre has some stock criticisms that crop up every now and then. Most have something to do with authenticity. Which I couldn't care less about.
This is just a hugely entertaining and engrossing record with an appreciation for the classics. Seriously, he name checks Mos Def, Biggie, and Outkast multiple times.
Highlights: Fade Away • Young Jesus • Stainless
