Some very groovy psychedelic pop-rock. The rare rock album where it’s almost better when it’s devoting itself purely to rock instrumentals. Reminds me of something like Quicksilver Messenger Service or the other mostly instrumental psych bands of the 60s.
Obviously this is also indebted to the Australian wave of neo-psychedelia. You can see other examples of this movement in the recommended albums below.
But the best part of this record is the killer electro-funk rhythms. Great bass lines and drum parts. And some awesome organ work.
This one’s super solid and verges on greatness in a few of the tracks. Consistently enjoyable the whole way through. Just a chill, good time.
