Debut solo project from one of the greatest mainstays of 2000s indie rock. Dan Boeckner was one half of both Wolf Parade and Handsome Furs.
He’s always had a strong instinct for songwriting and hooks, and Boeckner! is not exception - every track here is a winner. And to these songs he brings an off-kilter charisma as a vocalist.
The instrumentation is often switching between noisy buzzing synthpop and earthy indie rock.
Extremely solid. I really enjoyed it.
