Is this dad rock? Yes. Is it really good dad rock? Definitely.
Is dad rock a somewhat obnoxious way to classify a type of music? Probably.
What this really is some straightforward and classic sounding blues rock. There’s a lot of bands that fit that description, but the Black Crowes are masters of the form. And Happiness Bastards is one of their best collections of tunes ever, even three decades into their career.
Very much worth a listen.
