Here's a strange and wonderful electronic album that's all about changing it up. Change of style, change of texture, change of melody, change of mood - this music is constantly in flux. As I've written before, that dynamism is one of the necessary ingredients for instrumental music.
The tracks here have layered elements of footwork, disco, house, and vocal samples of Middle Eastern and African music. There are other samples too, one amazingly crazy track uses an elephant's trumpet. It's a real talent showcase, you get the feeling that Clap! Clap! is just showing off what he can do.
And what he can do is awesome. A Thousand Skies will carry you through to the end in a way that few albums in the genre ever do.
