Angel takes one foot out of her indie folk roots and plants it firmly in the haunting rockabilly of Orbison and Isaak. You might even hear some synth in a few of these songs.

Re-invention like this is sure to put some people off, but it's what great artists do. And she's proven herself great on this album.
