Grant - The Acrobat

Grant - The Acrobat

This is the first totally bona fide instrumental electronic release I’ve put on here. It’s not my most beloved genre, but every now and then I’ll hear a record that just hits me in the right way. And this one hit me hard.

There’s a warmth and an emotionality to this music, something sorely lacking in a lot of contemporary electronic music. Just listen to the second track to hear what I’m talking about.

Similarly lacking in much of today’s house and techno, progression. Obviously there need to be repetitive elements, but too often the only detectable changes in modern dance music are too slow and subtle to make for interesting listening outside of a club. Grant solves that problem by composing dance tracks with distinct movements and evolving motifs.

It’s a very mellow, hypnotic listen. I love it, I hope you will as well. Streaming below via YouTube.
