Low - Ones And Sixes

Low - Ones And Sixes

I’ve talked before about how difficult it is to do slow and gentle music and still remain interesting. Low is one of those bands that has never had trouble with that task. In fact, sussing out the dynamics of low-tempo music is pretty much the core of their sound.

Their last few records haven’t been up to the high standard they set on their early records, but Ones And Sixes finds Low returning to fine form.

I’d say the production on this album is a bit denser than Low have ever experimented with before.  More distortion and layering of melodies, adding even more auditory interest to the strong songwriting.
